MLK Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Today we honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who played a pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement. This federal holiday was created for citizens to give back to their communities and not just for a "day off".  I encourage you to use this day to reflect on his vision. As a nation, we have come a long way....but we still have a long way to go. In his honor, I wanted to share my time spent at his memorial in Washington, D.C. two years ago.

“People fail to get along because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they have not communicated with each other.”- Dr. Martin L. King Jr.
